Do I need bump stops for 3" lift?
Installing my RC 3" lift and just realized that I may need bump stops? Do I need them? I'll be going with a 31" tire.
If I do, any way to do them on the cheap? I don't really see myself wanting to spend 150-200 on some bump stops?
Also, I know the rears I can do after the lift is installed. Do the fronts need to be done while installing the lift since they are in the spring?

yup! Bump stops are relative to tire diameter and up travel (obviously) so lifting a vehicle doesn't magically give you more room for a larger tire. The bigger the tire, the bigger the bump stop (unless you hack your fenders up)
You don't need them to drive around town and be lifted. However you will if you plan to offroad the truck. I would measure after you install the lift and tires, that way you'll be sure to get the exact amount of bump stop length that you need. This means taking the spring back out later.

Where did you find the price of $150-$200 for bumpstops? Rear bumpstops are ~$50 and fronts are something like $1 or $2 dollars for hockey pucks. Now if you are talking about progressive bumpstops like the daystar stinger's then you start getting up there in price. But you really dont need those unless you are building a jeepspeed rig.

How do I measure for this? I have done some researching, most people with my lift bolt two hockey pucks up front and use a piece of 1x2" metal stock to space the rear. I can get the hockey pucks for $4.00 and the steel for free. Just got to buy some hardware.
