I have searched quite a bit for any info on this. Has anyone ever extended and reinforced their front upper and lower control arms? At 4 -4.5" of lift my front tires are very close to back of wheel wells. Adj arms are not in budget right now and if it's possible I'd rather fab them.Thanks ahead of time for any help. Also thanks for a great site, I've used it extensively for my 95 XJ build. Will post build pics soon

Since longer aftermarket arms are not in your budget, and you seem to have fabrication skills, just make your own longer control arms or fab up some drop brackets (which would be my preferd method- but I'd have to buy mine)

I had a buddy that took and cut them in the middle and welded in a piece of tube to extend them but the tube ran the whole length for strength.

Thanks guys. This helps. Anyone have any idea how much to add? Plan on cutting in middle, adding spacers (plate) to outside then running tube the entire length. Any suggestions on necessary length would b great! Thanks again guys. Have some SO much with this build up, this arm bit will b the end. Will post pics soon

ive made custom adjustable tubular arms using quality joints and bushings.

it would have cost me like $10 more to just buy a set lol.

Mine has them, It's a 1997 grand cherokee 4.0 (zj). Sorry if I'm in the wrong spot new to forum.

He's got a ZJ. Obviously he didn't realize XJs don't, or that he's in the XJ sub.

(I don't believe the rear control arms on a ZJ are the same length, so no)
