Arrow DirtBound Offroad T-Case Cable Shifter

Anyone see this yet?

http://www.dirtboundoffroad.com/np23...erokee-xj.html

I have the utmost respect for DBO, and It's nice to see a new option for transfer case shift linkage, but $199 is way overpriced. The Novak linkage price was bad enough! Thoughts?

I like this $10 method better(link).
But DBO has free shipping for over $150.

That is a little crazy. Prices on their bumpers and everything went up recently.

Dang, talk about a price increase. I reluctantly have $50 in my kit from FST. Needed and used it to finish my 4wd conversion. Needs one turn of adjustment to be perfect, but with how my crossmember and skid, it'll be fine till I have to drop that sucker again.

Same here. I've given up trying to get it to work with my 242, but I'm sure it'll but much better going when I put my 231 in.

Now that I've been to Tractor Supply to buy hardware (and Ace), I've seen the heim joints, and smack myself for even getting that kit. Could've saved some bucks.

$200 for a little shifter cable? No thanks

Oh yeah, I've seen it all and have tried many things. I have gotten it to work, but not to the point where I'm satisfied with the throw between shifts and the reliability of the rigging I made.

What about the one FST makes. Seems the simplest and only about $50. Buddy of mine has it for his TJ just waiting to be installed.

That's actually what I'm working with now. I'm confident that it'll work MUCH better when I put my 231 in, so I'm hoping. I think it's outrageous to pay any more than $50 (even that's a stretch) for T-case linkage.

Here's the link if anybody is wondering what I was taking about.

http://froehlichsuspension.3dcartsto...kage_p_24.html

Eventually ill get around to doing it to. Looks stronger, and more reliable. I can see a cable getting snagged on something and stretching or snapping.

Right, and if you read the description on DirtBound's page, or look on their Facebook, you'll see them say that it doesn't even retain the same throw motion of a stock setup. For that price, it should be made of gold and work perfectly.

Honestly, I think the cost from the FST kit comes from the laser-cut custom T-case lever (on the case itself). Other than that, you can get the threaded rod and heim joints and bolts and such from a hardware store much cheaper and you may be able to retain the factory T-case lever. If I were to do it over again, that's probably the direction I would go.
