I like american diesels, but anything with a 6 cylinder turbo diesel, i'm staying away from. I work on them daily already -_-. Your talking about like the 12v cummins and what not i believe. Or the 7.3 powerstroke.

Yea, very nice swap. The reinforcing sucks, along with the price haha. I'm only what like 15k without vehicle lol. I think we all dream of this

Yep the Renault 2.1L TD. Surprising a fair bit of parts for this engine are available.
You have to look on RockAuto- UK/Europe and Renault Espace or Trafic. They also came with the same engine.

With the 2nd '85 Cherokee Diesel I bought, I got tons of parts. Spare engine, engine parts, injector pumps, auto and manual trans, hoses, etc. It was probably the biggest collection of spare and used parts around.

I have a beater f250 that i thought about diesel swapping a few times,Even with all the cummins swap parts made for my truck i was looking a easy 5k to 8k,And a 4bt around me are 3k and it might run while i can get a running 12 valve for about 3k 3500 range.Don't get me wrong i love a powerstroke but don't wanna swap one rather have a injection pump its less wiring.

Very awesomr build, its is an amazing jeep. Only about 8k out of my price range lol. I do like the factory 2.1 renault. I definitely think the om617 will be the successor in the jeep world. Easy to find, easy to swap, and world class engine. I wish I could afford this but only have a 10-12k budget .

Yes very much agreed. Swapping full size diesels can be a pain in the @$$. I've done it a few times on the newer ford series and dodge series. 50k ftw??? That was the reason also for the om617. Its a dinosaur. Yet won't be killed off by a comet haha
