How do you plan on removing or installing the spare on the carrier? While it's in the air?

Yeah dude, it's like a carrier bumper that's optional if you want to take it off. I really want one myself.

I also plan on getting one someday... apparently there's a long waiting list though.

Just thoughts here, with the side drop one you could just lower it to the ground and roll it away. Just seems easier. I'm wondering if there's a strength difference?
The only thing I could see being a down side is having to move it whenever you need to get into the back.

thoughts ?

I actually did ask after JeepMN's comment... Detours is, in fact, taking orders for the Knucklebone carrier. It is only the Tailbone bumper/carrier that they are not taking orders for now. I was told the turnaround time on the knucklebone is only a few weeks.

He is definitely taking orders. Once I get back and give him my measurements I will be ordering mine.

What were the measurements that he had you take?

He told me that all orders were suspended for the time being until he could catch up, but I suppose he was referring to the Slimline bumper / tire carrier combo. I ordered mine with all the bells and whistles (tire carrier, diamond plate quarter panel armor, LED aux reverse lights) back in February and last I heard he was hoping to have it finished up this week. he's a great guy to work with, and I don't mind waiting for a quality product that's American made. But dang it, I am anxious for it's arrival!

I seriously considered the Knucklebone but decided I wanted a whole new rear bumper and spent most of my tax refund on it

They mostly need to know how high you want the tire to be, measured up from the mounting point. Big difference between having it on a trailer hitch versus on a receiver that is built in to a bumper. That is why I am waiting until I get a new rear bumper instead of getting one now to use with my trailer hitch.

This was my exact concern.

. What is the make, model, and year of your vehicle? (XJ/Cherokee)

2. Distance from the front face of your receiver hitch, back to the center
of the pin hole?

3. Distance from the top of your receiver to the top of your bumper?

4. Does the back face of your receiver sit flush with the back face of the
rear bumper or is it recessed or stick out beyond that face? What is the
measurement of the difference?
