^What he said.
I used them on my RE 5.5 and it caused vibrations and didnt prevent them. Finish the lift and see if you have vibes to fix, but I highly doubt you will need them.

no shims are used for both.
put the lift on, get an angle finder on the output of t case and the diff. I'm looking for a link to show this.

got the lift on, got vibes at 25-35 mph. so im doin the full SYE with a stock front 4.0 XJ driveshaft. was wondering though. could shims alone help get rid of the vibrations?? not sure if vibes ate coming cause of the slip yoke or rear pinion angle

yes. shims will fix the pinion angle. but an SYE is worth it in the long run. you gonna do hack n tap since your using front driveshaft?

Shims should be used with or without an sye to correct pinion angles.
With an sye pinion should be pointed right at output shaft on t case, and without an sye the pinion and t case output should be parallel (from what I have read).
I used my front shaft in the rear of my jeep, and then went to the local jy and got another to replace my missing front. Cost me about 35 bucks. I am at about 6" of lift roughly. Should settle a bit lower.
