death wobble speed droppin but everythings tight
hey fellow jeepers, i got a 96 XJ with a 3.5" lift on it with a noobie question. Here lately my death wobble has gotten real bad. i just replaced the whole steering, drag link, tie rod ends, etc, the steering damper is new, and all the joints seem to have NO play in em, everything is tighten to spec and proper torque; but my death wobble has went from 55mph down to 50mph, down again to 45mph in the course of a week. Does anyone have any idea on what could be causin such a horrible thing? I know my wheels need to be balanced cause i can feel that, but the wobble is a side to side shake,

Side to side shake? Trackbar and its associated brackets and bushings is the first thought.
Also high on the list is a broken or separated belt in a tire, usually forms a bubble in tire that can be felt or seen. Could be a bent wheel too.

I would also check the ball joints. Seems that almost every time I hear about death wobble, it involves the ball joints.

i have new ball joints and tie rod ends, my track bar is a rubicon express adjustable one for the 3.5in lift. My tires were balanced last month and i just had an alignment done last week, i was thinkin maybe control arm bushing could cause it?

i don't know how old and how many miles are on either set of my tires, i have a matchin set of 4 yokahama geolander hts size 265/70r15 and i have a mitch match set of 31x10.50r15. I have hit potholes a lot with both sets (they're everywhere in Virginia Beach) and i have done quite a bit of muddin, trail rides, etc with both sets of tires, i didn't get this bad of death wobble untill i swapped track bars though,

And it wouldn't be a bad idea to inspect your control arm bushings

When you installed the new track bar, did you check the mounting hole on the axle side to see if it has been worn out of round? The bolt can be tight but if the hole is worn the trek bar can still move.
