Dare i ask??? 4bt swap

Was interested in a possible small diesel swap, have found for most jeep guys, the 4bt is a common for the brave that have tried. Who if any, has done this, was it worth it (for a dd), where do you find this engine, what else is needed, trans, wiring, ecm, fuel system, cooling, conversion components?????

Best if you can get the whole vehicle it is from, usually step vans. Not sure how many have done it in an XJ, but it is a LOT of weight. I was going to put one in my dakota, but the ex got the truck. At this point a Gen3/4 GM V8 swap sounds like a better option.
May have better luck over at the 4btswap.com forums.
I know someone i working on a VW TDI swap in an XJ over at Naxja.org forums.

my buddy is a jeep guy and diesel mechanic, he does these swaps all the time. he uses most of jeep's original parts, but has machined the adapter plates himself.
here is a link to Greg's site. you can email him if you're serious about doing this.

i considered this at one point. There is a LOT of fab work needed to fit the engine under the hood in an XJ, not to mention the engine weighs more than TWICE what the 4.0L engine weighs. It can be done, but it will not be cheap or easy.

Heres a link to one that was done:
