Dana 44 question before buying

So I have found a dana 44 for sale which was taken from a wagoneer and then put on a YJ. The guy is selling it with disc brakes, ls locker, 4.56 gears and bearings kit and diff cover for 1K dollars.
I have noticed the wagoneer dana 44 is a little bit offset to the righ, so I wanted to know if its possible to have it installed or if its not worth it or too much of a hassle.

Ford 8.8's , a common swap, are offset quite a bit and aren't a problem so it shouldn't be.

You can do that. Bear in mind also that the bolt pattern on the wheels will be different too, so you will need wheels too

Would I need to change shaft or are there any other mods to take into account. Should I keep searching or just put some 29 spline axles on my 8.25, or is it worth to buy the dana 44 for that price?

Thoughts?

What size tires are you running? If no larger than 33s a 27 spline 8.25 would be fine, for 35s I would swap to 29 spline shafts.

If you are swapping from a D35, then no. You can get a Spicer 1310 yoke for it if doesn't have one and use your old shaft. Otherwise you can use an adapter 1310/1330 U joint

gotchas....I asked cuz I have seen a lot of people lately selling stuff they are calling lockers, but are in fact limited slips.....they assume locker means differential (or they are just lying to get more money)

one guy even posted sa link to the diff he put in...and it clearly said it was a limited slip...but he insisted it was a locker
