dana 44 knuckle
OK so I was looking at ball joints and other front axle parts and noticed ball joint kits for 30 35 and 44s. Will 44 knuckles fit a 30? I would like to put lockouts on my Jeep

Late model D44 (TJ) will fit, as they are the same exact knuckles.
Any other Stock D44 will not.
You can get Reid knuckles that will but they are $$
Selectable lock outs are WAY over rated! Especially if you plan to stay 4.5" (stock) wheels. You will be weakening the front end if you do a conversion with the 4.5" pattern stuff.

Its been done and raced, and done and raced, etc...

How weak are we talking? I'm running 3 inch lift with 31's. No plans t to go bigger on the tires as it is my daily driver. The bulk of my off road adventures is getting to and from some of my recreational areas.

does this link work? https://www.cherokeeforum.com/search...archid=4980053
I searched for you. answers should be in there somewhere. if not, google it
if almost no one else is putting lockouts on their 30, there's probably good reason for it. keep that in mind

Not planning to weld gears. Was considering options as I plan to replace unitbearings and ball joints. If swapping in some different knuckles from the jy and a set of lock outs was roughly the same price I considered that option to reduce wear on front axle and maybe help fuel consumption. If the price was to much or party's not available then it's no big deal. Just on option as I have to year it all down and buy parts any ways.

The wagoneer dana 44isn't a bolt in it takes a lot of welding and cutting before it fits,And its a 6 lug so you gotta change it over to a 5 lug or swap out the rear end to something 6 lug.
