exactly what year jeeps the 44s came in.
my dad keeps saying that the wagoneers have full width 44s in them like the ones in the j10 pick ups but i know there are driver side drop 44s that i can get and weld brackets on clean it up and run it. i want to double check what year wagoneers they came in if the year makes a difference.
my internet home page is pirate 4x4 and i actually havnt found a write up for a 44 on there that mentions what the axle is out of.
sort of a noob question but i want to get my facts strait before i go hunting for a new axle this weekend in the jy.

im pretty sure all dana 44's that came in Jeeps are going to be low pininon. I had a waggy axle out of a post 80 wagoneer (driver drop, non disco) that i traded for an hp d44 narrowed to waggy width out of a 77 f150.
are you looking to run full width? or waggy width? i would recommend getting a 44 out of a 77 or so f150 and keep it full width if you'd like, or cut it down to waggy width.

Some FSJ Grand Waggys were equipped with narrow-trac D44'. They are a common swap for XJ's and TJ's.
