Default Dana 30 question

what is the difference in the dana 30 axles that have what seems to be a vacuum line running into the housing? I am pulling a front axle off of a 93' parts jeep and i noticed this, i also have a 98' that does not have one. thanks.

Should just be a breather line.
Its a 93 so it shouldn't have a vacum disconnect housing

If your '98 doesn't have a breather (comes out of the diff housing from the top of he passenger side) then I would be concerned if I were you.

It's a breather hose that runs up into the engine bay.
