I have been looking and I see one of my somewhat local junkyards is supposed to have a set of stock CVs out of a 97 ZJ for 35 bucks a piece. I wonder how they compare to the HDX. I havent looked real hard yet, but I havent found any info on the OEM ZJ shafts, how many ***** they have etc. If I could figure out what it takes to replace boots etc maybe I will buy them and do some measuring.

The OEM ZJ CV axles are probably higher quality than anything you'll buy aftermarket. IMO. But given the age on them, I would either install new boots and grease or have a driveshaft shop do it for me.

If you get them, take some measurements like I did above so we can compare the size differences (if any) and if you take the boots off yourself, get some pictures of that too!

Good luck!
