Default D44 swap issues

Well I just installed a D44 under my rig and now I've realized the rear driveshaft is too long and is binding. It is the stock slip yoke style shaft. Where there any model XJ's that used a shorter rear shaft than what came with the D35 models? I need this rig back together by this afternoon so I'm on a time crunch. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated

The driveshafts between the D35 axles and th 8.25/D44 axles are different length by an inch or so from what i have always heard.

I believe you need one out of an 8.25 or D44 rig.

You can cut and weld it back. I saw this on trucks for a mustang they didn't balance it or anything and we did it to my dads jeep and it's fine no vibes or anything.

A little more lift should take care of it.

Well I jumped the gun with that question. After putting the rig down on its own weight the DS is fine. Now it's the angle that's causing problems when braking so it's time to make a TC drop to work until tonight when I order my SYE

Limp it around with just the front shaft.

FWD XJ FTW.

haha I don't think the D30 will like that very much.

Anyways, the binding isn't too bad until I hit 45mph or if I slam on the brakes. I'm gonna limp around with the vibs until my SYE comes in
