Is this a D44?
I know, this must get asked alot (sorry), but I've been trying to compare to other pictures and the "differentials.jpg" but am not 100%. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/attach...ferentials.jpg
This is a pic from an '87 Laredo automatic with supposed factory tow package. It looks like D35 front and D44 rear? Are 1987 parts very compatible with a 1993?
Guy is asking $1200 and it looks to be in good shape. I'd like to swap out some parts then sell it off or give it to the junk yard.

You're right, I was getting mixed up staring at all the pictures.
This 87 looks in better shape than my 93, maybe I should just fix this one up instead!

Looks like a 44 to me too. But $1200 seems awfully high. If they were regeared & locked I could see them costing that much. I see them worth more than $700.
Have you looked in the local junkyards or CL for front 30 & rear 44, 8.25 OR 8.8? The 8.8 will need perches, u bolts & shock mounts. The others will bolt in. Grand total $500, add $100 more to the cost if you go 8.8.
For less than $2k you could have basically new regeared & locked axles.

He's asking $1,200 for a 87 XJ Laredo.
I really don't have time to be hunting junkyards or craigslist for weeks on end, or ability to shuttle an 8.8 to different places to have it welded up.
The only truck I have is the 93 XJ I bought recently to fix up, but I really don't want to drive it on a highway since it's all over the road at around 35 - 40 mph.

Yeah the rear looks like a 44 to me,The front is a dana 30 cad which is not really worth pulling out.1200 is a lil high for a parts jeep unless its really nice and you need 90% of the parts of it.But you already have a 8.25 and 33s i see no need to swap axles at all.
