cut rear quarter fenders
So I removed my stock rear bumper and found that my right quarter fender is completely rusted through and left is starting to rust. I have seen pictures where others have just cut the bottom 6 to 8 inches off and I assumed boxed them in, has anyone here done this? What is the best way to go about it?

Thank you, that helps a lot but My fenders are to far gone to cut and fold, any ideas for boxing them in. I am trying to attach photos but having troubles, but I can drop a baseball through the hole in the right side.

Ouch! That's a wee bit of rust you got there. As someone stated previously, cut it off as high as you want and bend a piece of sheet metal to fit. Weld it up and you're good to go.

Ah, yes love it when you take the bumperetts off and BAM effin' rot.
Here's how I did mine, tip, measure, measure, mark it out, cut.
Rot:
Measure & mark:
I cut out the rot, then cut slits so I could bend the good rust free sheet metal in to give me something to pop river to
Folded under:
Used alum trim from Home Depot: painted, cut to size, and used a crap load of silicone to make it waterproof.
Then drilled & pop riveted:
Done. Then, when I Monstalined my rockers, I put it on extremely heavy under and all around. ( never mind that PERFECT shackle angle, next in my list of to do's)
See next post (can't post any more Picts)
