Cut N Fold Rear Bumper

Cut N Fold Rear Bumper
Hello all,
I recently cut and folded my lower quarter panels which looks awesome! Problem now is what rear bumper to run? I like the idea of having the rear bumper extending under the qtrs for added protection. The only cut n fold bumpers i have found that offer this protection are JCR, Dirtbound, and OR Fab but these are all 500 bucks...I know lots of people cut n fold their quarters I'm just curious as to what others used.

Do you have access to a welder? It's way cheaper to build your own, and that way you can make it exactly how you want. I fabbed up my rear bumper after I did the cut and fold and put the Q.P. guards on it. It ran me around $150 for all the steel and welding wire, etc. That's always an option.

There's only a few bumpers specifically for the cut and fold. Making your own is always fun if you have the time/resources. I did my own, sort of simple design but it works well, I don't have a great picture of it, but for an idea:

On the other hand I like how beefy this looks and its home brew which means less $. I don't currently have access to a welder but a few phone calls could fix that. If I were to fab my own bumper I would try and make something similar to AJ's tanker tire carrier. I loved the design but when you add a jerry can and shipping to that thing I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger.

I hadn't either but I follow some guys on Instagram who have their products an love them. I decided to look up it and decided that it would look good so I called and they were really cool. Had no trouble ordering it. There is a 2 week build time though. But shipping is free on most products I believe.

That's an interesting design, I drive a 98 though..correct me if I'm wrong but they are still in the process of making the 97+? Compared to the Ares Fab bumper this one is only 275$ more for the rear tire carrier. Could be a selling point for me but as for now I am leaning towards the Ares.
