Default Cut hinges

So I recently got a 95 Cherokee and the doors wee cut off the hinges on the body side. Is there any aftermarket hinges I can purchase to put the doors back on?

Do you have a picture of what yours looks like currently? I would think that there'd be no other answer than to cut hinges off of a donor Jeep and weld them to yours.

Morris 4X4 has them but they're not cheap:

I'm not seeing the early model hinges there.

At that price for one I'd over look it to.

At that price I'd buy a wrecked XJ just for the door hinges.

I'd like to see a picture of this too. What possessed the individual to cut the hinges off the body? If they were that dumb, what other stupidity is in the vehicle. As previously stated, scrapyard. Looks like the XJs do not wear out hinges, so shouldn't have trouble finding a good set. Good luck cutting them off.

XJs definitely wear out hinges. The pin, actually and there is no real good replacement. The door starts to sag and the seal is no good.

I'm surprised. Mine is a 90 with 235k miles on it, the hinges are in excellent shape. No sag to them. I am definitely familiar with hinge sag, I own a 79 Camaro. Those second gen F bodies EAT hinges, about every six months.

I bought my 99 XJ with the same problem. It was a fad I guess to cut the pins and half of the door side hinge to be able to make removable doors.

My solution: I went to the junkyard with my SawzAll and just cut the body side hinges which allowed me to take the door side hinge off the doors.

Then I went home and using a Dremel tool I cut the pins in half to remove them. Now I have 8 door side hinges. I got the Dorman Pin & Bushing kits #38439 and can now use the new hinge halves and remount my doors the right way, with no wobble or mis-alignment.

Removable doors for wheeling.

Apparently my previous owner thought this nightmare was a dream ...
