Default Crazy radiator question.

So Ive got 2 XJ radiators sitting at home that are completly stuffed and have a 2 day off road trip coming up this weekend that I really want to go to.
Now for the crazy part. My dad has 2 spare radiators for a TJ. Would there be any way to mount one of these so I could still go on this trip. I would normally just buy another one and go but they are well out of my price range to be able still go on the trip.
Edit: I forgot to mention none of the wreckers in my area have any Jeep stuff anyway so 2nd hand isnt an option.

It won't work. The XJ radiator is short and wide, while the TJ radiator is almost square. Off the top of my head, I'd say the TJ radiator is about 10"-12" taller than the XJ unit, and about 18" narrower. aside form basic fitment issues, your fans and shrouds won't align or work correctly.

You said a radiator is out of your price range. Just imagine how much a new motor would cost of you try to Mickey Mouse this thing and get stuck out in the boonies with a massively overheated engine.

Check www.rockauto.com for a radiator. I got one for my '98 form them for about $85. Hell, a full tank of gas is $65, so that's not too bad for a new radiator.

I know the dimensions of the thing are different, I was more wanting to know if someone has done it before. Im literally on the other side of the world to you. Full tank of gas here is closer to $160 and all the radiators Ive found have been around the $400 mark. New motor is about that too haha.

the TJ radiator will fit...in the back of your XJ, will require some piping and a big electrical fan. Result will be big loss of rear cargo area, and reduction of maximum occupancy of the XJ to 2 people, but if sized properly, cooling issues will be a thing of the past.

I thought that would be the case. Thanks for your answer though. I also thought about putting it infront on the grill, but I dont think it would last long. First low branch maybe?

Crazy radiator question.-duras.jpg

You think it would hold out for a 2 hour drive, 2 days in the bush then 2 hours back?
The Tank isnt cracked, just leaking at the join.

I can almost guarantee it won't last. My mom had me do that on her rad when it started leaking, even though I told her it probably wouldn't hold. Thing held up for 45 minutes then split open.
