i have 1 i built but basically same set up. It is loud with the windows up and the trans downshifts like to pass someone. With the windows down not to badbad but in the winter i was second guessing my decision. I bought a snorkel but i am not going to install it as i have a dual battery set up in my engine compartment and dont want to mess with the washer tank as i use it alot.

That's cool that they're back in the game with these. Interesting design how they have you cut that large pocket out and supply the bracket. Why are they supposedly for offroad use only?

How difficult is it to change the filter and is it a KnN filter that requires the oil to be sprayed on it which is hard on sensors????????

It's pretty straightforward to take the filter out and put it back in, just some screws. The brand is a Green filter, but yes, you do have to spray oil on it.

I use a K&N on my F150 and if you get in a hurry the oil can foul a sensor, which I did one time over several years of use. If you clean, dry, lightly oil then set the filter on a few layers of paper towels overnight(for square flat type) it will wick away any extra oil and I never had a problem when I do it like that. Putting one back in right after oiling was the one time it caused problems.

I solved the problem a different way. I bought two filters and alternate them. When the dirty one comes out, the clean one goes in. I clean and oil the dirty one, let it dry per the instructions, then return it to the plastic bag and K&N box it came in. I'm not trapped if I want to drive away while my filter is drying. I'm not in a bind if I really need a clean filter, because there's always one on the shelf. I'm never in such a hurry that I risk fouling a sensor.

I like the AEM Dryflow filters, but am running a KNN admitadly. Came with my XJ and I am too cheap to spend the $30 on a good oil-less reusable filter.
