Corbeau Sport Seat

3 Attachment(s)
Does NOT fit the Cherokee.

I have an 89' Jeep Cherokee Limited with 337,000 miles. My driver seat is literally falling apart. I ordered the Corbeau Sport seat and bracket.

I've had a terrible time installing the pair. The seat bracket didn't fit as the support arm was contacting the hump from the transmission. The slide release handle was facing to the rear of the bracket. I cut, repositioned and welded the support arm so-as-to not contact the transmission hump and I removed and reinstalled the sliders to face forward.

I finally installed the seat and I'm sitting at least 2 inches higher. My line of sight is almost even with the top of the door frame. I have to scrunch down to look out of my driver window.

I'm going to exchange the "Sport" seat for the "Moab" seat and see if it sits at the normal height.

please post back your opinion of the next seat

The seat isn't the problem. The problem is the bracket.

I used the OEM seat bracket and fabricated an adapter to bolt my Corbeau SS seats to. It works perfectly. I sit no higher in these than I did in stock seats.

Took about 30 minutes to make 2 seat brackets that retained the OEM sliders.

@ Lowrange2
Really appreciate it if you can give any details / pic / drawing... on how you made an adapter?

Keep in mind that this type only works with the Baja SS style mounting. I don't know if yours mounts the same. If not you might have to do something slightly different but it's definitely still doable.

Alright, Imagine you're looking straight down on top of the OEM seat bracket from the back seat with no seat mounted to it.

You'll see that the factory seat bolts to the seat bracket with 4 vertical bolts.

Those vertical bolts are the circles shown on my little drawing.

I used 2"x1/4" flat bar to make the left-right pieces so they would be flat and not raise the seat any.

Then I used .5"x .125 square tube for the front-back pieces.

My seat mounts with 4 horizontal bolts. That's the red lines you see on my drawing.

OEM bracket bolts to the circles, COrbeau bolts to the lines.

It's just an H with an extra line. Make sense?
