Control Arms

I picked up a set of stock length non adjustable tube lower control arms for my 88 project. I installed them with a Rough Country drop box and the stock upper control arms with a 4.5 lift. I am wondering if having the stronger lower control arms may cause some future failure of the stock upper arms. I am on a serious budget for the build but would like to know if anyone has experience either good or bad with mixing the control arms the way I have. The XJ will be a daily driver over third world country roads. let me know if you ahve a cheap set of non adjustable upper arms...

You're fine. Stock upper arms are fine at 4.5". Bushings are probably worn just because of the age of the vehicle but that's with any vehicle of age.

But having aftermarket LCAs is not going to cause stock UCAs to wear faster.
