You know I've looked around and read lots of threads about cad brackets. After looking a rough country, rubicon express, and rocky road its becoming a very tough decision. Rough country just doesn't look very stout. Re is expensive when you want the back plates, and everyone says rocky road is a pain to deal with. I'm leaning toward rocky road thou because they look very beefy and the price is riht. I'm just thinkin when I call I will ask them if they have the part in stock and when it will ship.with all the negative feedback I've seen I am still leary of these guys. Anyone actually have the rocky road set up? Anyone have any input?

I helped a friend install the rough country drop brackets on his XJ and was surprised at how stout they looked in person. It looks like a good setup to me and he has been wheeling pretty hard on it for about 6 months with no problems at all.

Cool... I would like to order from them for true track record. Anyone know if welding them on is a good idea? I think if I find the back plate is insufficient I can probably fab up my own.

I've been running the RC ones for about 3 years and other than bolts backing out of the unit body they work great. Not a substitution for long arms but work great none the less. They recommend a min. of 4.5" and I think 6" is about perfect.

i ran the rubicon express ones for 5 years. out of the three, i like the mounting and design of the RE ones the best.

just be aware, you only need stock length control arms with drop brackets.

Ive had many of customers to place some spot welds on them after they were bolted up and all worked great. I ran the first prototypes for 2 years and beat the crap out of them with out welding and they held up great. Ive always been a fan since we released them

Pretty sure I will still need longer then stock with my lift. This will not get the control arms.flat. I will need arms for a 4 inch lift or so.

I have 7+... I lowered the back a bunch but I measured for the three inch drop already... hopefully I will just get adjustable arms.

i went to 7.5 for a season with my drop brackets and stock length tubular control arms for a season till my bushings wore out, then went with 8 inch coils and long arms.

if you're set on anything above 5.5, you really should just go long arm.

IIRC...you would still need to purchase the bracing brackets if you went with the Rocky Road set? I believe they are setup to use the RE brackets. Correct me if I'm wrong on this guys.

I ended up scoring a set of the Rubicon Express DB's and really enjoy them so far. People always say that they are not worth it because they hit on everything. Not true, I ran Fin's n' Things in Moab and did not get hung up once. Only place I had trouble was dropping off a cattle guard the had an 8 inch drop straight down. Hit hard, but didn't even phase the DB's.
