Competition Cam Necessary Modifications and Adjustments
hey yall,
ive got a 1997 4.0 5 speed xj, which I love, and It is powerful enough for what it is, but I am thinking of putting a bigger cam and aftermarket lifters in it.
what other modifications would I need for a bigger cam? could I get away with the stock springs or would it be smart to upgrade those to prevent valve float?
also what is the best way to be able to tune a jeep 4.0 from a laptop? what programs and hardware would yall suggest?
thank you,
walker lilly

You will need to mach the valve spring to the cam and you will need to do some work to the lower end because a bigger cam likes to go to a higher RPM .
