Default Cold air!

So a few months ago (beginning of the summer) an XJ guy, at my local NAPA, and I got to talking and he mentioned an old air intake he was trying to get rid of, long story short I came home with a brand new Spectre cold air filter. wanting to get this bad boy on but I was curious as to performance changes and HOW would be the best way to get it hooked up, pictures would be greatly appreciated as well as any and all advice thanks!

Youll notice a little better throttle response and thats about it. Enjoy the sound of your motor breathing, Some complain about this aspect. If you havn't already, free up your exaust to reap the full benefits.

Different exhaust,, like borla
That's a company for exhaust kits and parts
There are others or if you know a shop that does custom exhausts where all parts outside of the cat and muffler are designed you can go through them ( support local small businesses and such )

If you go cold air, you'll see great gains by using a high-flow cat and good muffler, like a Magnaflo or Flowmaster. You could also bore your throttle body to 62 or 63mm to get more benefit with the CAI.

Running a spectre cowl intake that runs into a 62mm tb w/ full exhaust. Its quite nice.

Other than the small throttle body, the oem intake isn't that restrictive.

A 99+ intake mani and bored TB will be the real gain, not a bigger air filter that will suck more hot engine bay air.

I mostly agree with this, but a properly built and shielded airbox with a larger opening and a cone filter will bring more air in.

I don't think a 4.0 inhales enough CFM to demand a larger air supply.

Cooler, absolutely. More...eh.
