Please school me on where to place after market lighting... how many I need... blah
I am planning on going with Harbor Freight 55watt rectangle lights... why? well I already have a new pair of them that came with the truck, NEW IN THE BOX... and they are cheap and they get GREAT reviews
http://www.harborfreight.com/clear-l...hts-37349.html
any reason I should NOT use these?
My wife wants me to do the Harbor Freight 6" round off road light
http://www.harborfreight.com/6-inch-...tem-95811.html
so should I roof mount? Above the bumper mount? IN the bumper mount?
I kinda am worried about going above the bumper because of cooling issues
How much light do I really need?
I am a little worried about roof mounting as I only have a 7ft door on my garage
I clear ok now... but when I had a 285/75/16 on a roof mounted tire rack(which sat 5 or 6" off the roof) I could not get into the garage, I needed about 2 more inches to be safe...
also pics of your setup would be nice

It will be fine to mount on top of the bumper, the factory put lights there. My lights are aftermarket as well, but my bumper already had the mounting holes. By mounting them to the roof they may give you more illumination, but i believe its illegal to have them on while street driving. Also you can mount them to the factory roof rack, you can probably find something on here about that. Also i would think the 6" round lights would be brighter. What i would do is either the rectangular lights on the bumper for versatility on and off road or the round lights on the roof for more lighting on the trail. Or both:-)

I run a pair of daylighters on my front bumper and they illuminate great. I have a JCR Offroad bumper with a front hoop on it and the lights are mounted on top of the loop instead of hanging down. Also have a set of Rally Series on my roof rack. Personally I like the bumper mount the best. I have a similar set up using Hella's on my F150 that are wired into the high beams and I can legally run them on the high way like that and I do that on the jeep to. Legally can't run the roof mounted ones unless I'm off public roads. The big question is, do you want them for show, off road only use, or a combo of on road/off road? In most states the cap for highway use lights is between 4 and 5 feet off the ground.
