Got a 00 xj just put the trans cooler in and need to know what lol e goes back to the trans top of the radiator or bottom? Also what size fittings do I need to make the splice?

Bottom line shows blue (cold fluid) in the link I posted. That would be the return. 10* and windy here or I'd go out and double check for you. LOL

That is incorrect. Top line is return. I am 100% certain that is true on my '00. If you want to double-check me anyway, the return line runs to the back of the transmission. Follow that to the radiator, and you will find that is the top line. Your aux cooler ideally should be positioned the same way--with the inlet on the bottom and the outlet on the top. This insures that air is purged out of the lines properly. That diagram above from the FSM is notoriously wrong and confusing.
Just splice your aux cooler into the soft portion of the return line with 3/8 brass barbed splices.
