Clunking noise from front end
Whenever I go over bumps in the road, I hear an audible metal on metal clicking noise from my front suspension. It sounds like the drivers side but I'm not sure....
I just rebuilt both upper control arm joints, and checked the bushings in the others. All bolts are tightened to spec. Everything is greased. And I have no idea what it is.....any ideas? A starting point? Nothings loose and everything greased. I'm at a loss

I've driven with the swaybar connected and disco'd, noise is the same so it's not the end links. Didn't think to check the swaybar bushings, I'll check those

I chased a noise like that for months. Turned out the steering stabilizer bolt at the axle end needed a bit of tightening.

It's not unibody creaks, I've gotten used to those. The swaybar bushings are in good condition- I may pick up a set just to see though. And no, if I rock the jeep there's no noise. I can not re create the noise unless I'm driving and hit a bump in the road

Have you checked your track bar bracket? I had a noise like this once. It would happen when I went over a bump, or occasionally on sharp turns. Turns out it was my tracbkar bracket. I tightened all my trackbar bracket bolts and it went away. Good luck.

Extremely common and almost impossible to see. It's just one of those things you do just cuz, many times with some real positive results.

I had this^. Or... your front shocks.. mine "pop" from time to time over bumps.. I need BPE. although its not really a metal on metal sound.

I had an issue like this as well on my 95 sport. Turns out the mounting bolts for the brake calipers have a rubber sleeve that go over them to prevent rattles and clunks. The boots on my drivers side bolts had deteriorated causing this metal on metalthe clunk. Worth a look and only 12 bucks or so for the 4 bolts and boots from napa to replace both sides...

Checked all of the above. All bolts are tight, all bushings are good, and the rubber boots on the calipers are still in goof shape.
I have no idea what this is and I can't figure it out. I went back through my entire suspension and greased everything, torqued all bolts down an extra quarter turn, and checked all the steering component bolts. Any other ideas? I ordered another rebuild kit for my LCA joints from RC. Maybe one of the bushings are bad.
And it's not just one clunk, it reverberates after the bump
