Default Chrysler 8.25 Gusset or Truss Kit

i would like to reinforce my 8.25 rear and I am running about 2"'s of lift...I am having difficulties finding a gusset kit for the 8.25 or a truss kit that will work with minimum to no lift...

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

For your plans with your XJ there is no need to worry about it, it will hold up just fine stock. No need to fix something that's not broke or in all possibility will not either.

Mine has held up fine as well as a lot of others who wheel theirs pretty hard. I have 33x12:50x15's with a locked set of 4.56's and I'm off road a lot of the time never an issue in almost 2 yrs. now with the stock 29 spline axles to boot.

Could just find some flat stock 3/16" and weld up your own small gussets if you want to overkill it

I agree with Fred. I'm locked running 33's and I ran 35's for a bit on the stock axle you should be fine.

If you do anything to the C/8.25 it should be to beef up the welds on the axle tubes.
I spun one that wasn't welded very good.

^^this will do the trick for a rear axle. if you're just dying to truss something, truss the 30. but me being my lazy self I wouldn't bother with that either

What kind of wheeling do you do where you need all this done on a 2" lift.

that's gonna be one heavy duty D30. if you've got the time and cash to throw at it, go for it I suppose. I'd call it done with control arm plating and a diff cover personally

We have some large curbs and car stops here at the malls in Nevada and my wife has a bad habit of driving over them so I want to make sure she doesn't cause any damage to the axles or get high centered.

Should I be concerned with her taking it out shopping since it only has a 2" lift, sway bar disco, good armor, SYE, full stiffeners front to rear, well built axles and arb's front and rear?

Now I may have to reconsider my xj and get her a stock Rubicon TJ, wait it doesn't have more than a 2" lift from the factory either. and not enough room for groceries.

Just kidding...it will be wheeling on a lot of harder trails but I'm building it to have a sleeper look and planning on my lockers, axles, ome lift, and armor to get me through the trails, it may be a little more challenging but I'm sure I will do fine wheelin with the open diff rigs. If I have to drag a little that's ok...
