Default Broken Motor Mounts - AGAIN(

HI GUYS,
Hoping you all can help me out with some information..and I apologize if I posted in the wrong forum..wasn't really sure! Anywhoo, I have a 1994 Cherokee Country Sport 2 Dr 4.0 with a 3" lift. I don't 4x often and if I do it's just recreationally. My motor mounts sheared off about 8 years ago and dropped the engine 2", screwed up a bunch of stuff. I took it in somewhere and they fixed them but just recently (I re-aquired the Jeep from my ex-boyfriend) the same thing has happened, first with the driver's side and today the passenger side went, creating a nauseating sound when the fan blade started hitting the frame. I immediately stopped and my boss towed me back to where I live and work. I'm pretty remote in Big Sur, CA and will have to have my Jeep towed about 60 miles for a fix. I really don't know much about these things but I have been looking on-line and it seems like I should maybe go with an after-market product when replacing???? I have no freakin' idea. Can someone out there enlighten me on how I should handle all of this? Totally appreciate any links you can give me and info as I am sure there's alot of you out there that have had the same situation at some point..
THANK YOU!!!)))))))
Lisa

Thanks so quickly! I've been reading about some type of vibration occuring with the browndog mounts..anything I should be concerned about? I'll look into the IRON MAN's as well. I going to have it towed to this place that does stuff to trucks http://tapstruckaccessories.com/paso...ccessories.htm
hopefully that is...I haven't even called them yet as this all just happened earlier this evening. I don't have alot of option available to me as I live smalltown. Gonna call them tomorrow. But should I purchase the mounts and take them to them or should they already have things like this I'm wondering...? Someone just told me about this place. Hoping they can fix!! (I wish I would've taken automotive class instead of home ec dammit!!!!! ;-))) next life....

Well thanks...IRONMAN's it will be then! I'm in Big Sur, CA and not too much is actually 'near me'..haha! Where do you live?
I guess I should go ahead and order those ASAP and have 'em shipped to me no matter what...I doubt this place is going to carry those in stock...

You sure is the motor mount and not the part of the mount that bolts to the block?

The block side of the mount is known to fail due to it only using 3 mount points, over time the bolts can work a bit loose and from then its only a matter of time.

A few companies make block mounts that use 7 or so mount points on the engine block and are extremely strong. Brown dog and MORE are 2 that I know of.

Hmmm, that's a good point. I don't know but I will ask my boss to take a look tomorrow to see if that could be it vs. the mount. He's pretty with it mechanically so I will bring this up and ask him to look at it again before I do any ordering...thanks!))

Even if it turns out to be just the motor mounts, make sure the shop checks the bolts on those block mounts, best time to do it is with the mount out of the way.

If you have had that many problems with it then you should check the two points where the mounts bolt up. Check the frame/subframe/unibody where the motor mount sits and check for any damage and mounting area for problems, also check the engine to see if the area where the bushing sits between.

With the problem happening twice, got with brown dog or MORE so you can get the added mounting system to prevent it again.

you can get the rubber brown dogs so you won't have the vibration.
the mount to the enige is what i thinking is going to be the main problem, not the rubber mount.

FYI - Brown Dog Offroad now shipping rubber and polyurethane XJ motor mounts 2-3 days after the order is placed. Shipping is always free and takes another 2-3 days. You were likely quoted 2 weeks when you asked. As of this week we've sufficiently recovered from several emergency hospitalizations. Special thank you to all who have stood with us during these unusual months. As many of you know we are a small family-operated company.

Next week we hope to be able to make enough to be able to ship product within 24-48 hours of order.

Don't forget your Cherokee Forum-Brown Dog Offroad vendor discount of 10% when you place your order: CF2011.
