Default cherokee tube fenders from new guy

My account dose not yet allow me to post in the fabrication thread. Some one showed how they did it so I went for it. Hurts just a little knowing it was a totally rust free body and that cut and fold...OUCH.

I like the looks of them! Do you think the EMT will hold up? I was going to do something like that but use riged for the strength.

I was thinking about emt also.
Might not be able to drive on, but would holds up better than plastic.
Easy and cheap to re make if needed.

I started with riged pipe but bending and reproducing the same bend over and over again turned out to be very challenging to do. I went with EMT and it was then much easer. As far as holding up, there way stronger than the fender there bolted to so short of tearing the fender off I imagine they'll do fine.

Judging by the quality of your work, I'm sure you know this... Make sure you remove that galv off the emt before welding and ventilate your area well. Something I almost learned the hard way!

BTW, those look great! Let us know how they hold up.

I mixed a light solution of 75% water 25% meriatic acid. Then water rinse. Strips the galv off in just minutes.
