Ceiling thickness
I searched prior to this post but couldn't find what I was looking for.
I have a wire dog cage behind the second row seat. It has telescoping legs tha press the top into the ceiling. the only thing that holds it up is the pressure from the legs.
It seems like an excellent place to hang things if needed, but I know that the pressure isn't enough to keep it up with weight on it. My plan is to put clips around the wire at the roof, then use screws to secure them. My question is, how thick is the ceiling before I need to worry about drilling through the roof etc.?
I don't know what they are called but I envision something like this -
What would this fastener be called? I want to know that and need to know how long of a screw I can use

it is only sheet metal, you would be through it in a few seconds. now there are 3 cross beams that go cross the roof and hang about an inch down from it, those would be great to bolt to, but you would have to remove the headliner to find where they were.

Just so happens that the cage is butted up against the rear cross bracing! Good luck for me. Thanks for letting me know about that, should be an easy solution from here
