Default Carbureting an 87 Cherokee...HELP/INPUT

Hi cherokee forum. I have recently purchased a 87 Cherokee knowing that the 4.0 in it would need a complete rebuild. With that said I have decided to get rid of the Fuel Injection. I am much more comfortable and experienced with carbs ( i like to tune myself and not rely on a comp).
Ok so here goes...I know that Clifford Performance makes a carb intake but before I spend 300+ bucks I want to know does anyone have experience with adapting a 4.2 carb intake onto a 4.0 head and if so what are the steps to get a good fit. I understand you run in to flange and port match issues...what else should I look out for?? I know this is "moving backward" for alot of people and may make some fuel injection guys go nuts...but my mind is made up...any constructive input is welcome. Thanks Cherokee Forum!

I am of no help at all but it is an interesting question and I look forward to hearing some answers! How will this affect the computer on board in general? With all the pieces of the fuel injection gone will it cause the computer to malfunction and affect other functions?

There you go 85 for an adapter and get a 4.2 dizzy and go plus a low pressure fuel pump
