Default Can't get new front coils in?

So over the weekend I installed a JKS ACOS lift system on my 99 XJ. I also bought a set of the MOOG CC782 coils.

For the life of me I could not get those Moog coils in!

I had jacks against the unibody rails to the front axle, sway bar disconnected, sway bar links disconnected, shocks disconnected, pitman arm disconnected from the drag link and was using coil compressors. Came up short around an inch of getting them up in there.

I ended up installing the ACOS with the stock coil springs.

Any ideas?

The Moogs are only around an inch taller but they seemed thicker so they were harder to compress and I really didn't like using those harbor freight coil compressors!

i'd wager it was the trackbar or control arms hitting the shock mounts. you should never have to use a spring compressor.

Disconnect trackbar, remove calipers, unbolt shocks, jack up front of vehicle as high as you can, then go higher!
Pray and swear!
It can be done!
I had to use spring compressors once it was all together to adjust the Acos another inch because of bumper/winch height.

This was before I adjusted the Acos:

Unhook lower control arms. Takes 2 minutes. Jack the body up to your hearts desire.

I use a motorcycle jack to support the axle..to raise the axle.........so much easier.

I disconnect the entire axle, easy when starting from scratch.

I am going from 28" tires to 30 BFG's today so I was looking to make room. The ACOS raises it some, maybe enough for 30's. Rims will be here today so I should know tonight if I need to tear it apart again this weekend or I can get the Moogs in at a later date.

Thanks for the info fellas!
