how so? I thought you had to measure the distance and they send you a custom length shaft? I was thinking short shaft and CV from tom woods

Buy the SYE kit from Advance Adapters, its the best. Then just go grab a front driveshaft out of another XJ from a yard. The slip in the driveshaft should give you plenty of play for stock, as well as a mild lift. You should get off pretty cheap. I wouldn't get a tom woods shaft or something of that caliber until you figure everything out. Then down the road you can use the front shaft for a rear and front backup. I've been using a front shaft in the rear for 10k miles and haven't had any problems other than having to do the routine u-joint stuff. Happy Jeep'n dude.

I already have an SYE and shaft. I was just wondering if it was possible to put it in before I got around to installing the lift as I have everything to do that job now.
