Default Can I swap gauge clusters?

I have a 96 XJ, I used to have a 2001 XJ and I really dislike the look of my 96. Can I get a cluster out of a newer one and just swap them, "plug and play" or is there more involved?

I would also like to swap as much parts as I can including center council, dash bezzel, hvac cluster etc...

Is all of this possible? Plug and play I hope? Any help is appreciated

Thanks Eric

Not a plug & play mod.

Yep, Big David is right. I've owned both a 95 Cherokee and a 2000 Cherokee and had the gauge clusters out. There is no way it would be a plug and play swap by any means.

Absolutely not. The dash gauges in 97 and up are in one piece and completely electronic.

96 and older aren't

I dont mind doing a little work to get it to work. I hate the look of my 96 cluster, is there any write ups to swap in the newer cluster?

There is a guy on here that switched his whole interior from a 96 to 01. Not easy but can be done.
