35's on stock gears would be terrible. Unless you are gonna re-gear I would stick with 32's or 33's

What size are you running now cause you don't have much room for a bigger tire. Guessing you swapped in the rear axle and there is a big difference in the grabbers and km2. One is an AT and the other a MT.

You could run them.. It would suck at that gearing and you'd have to trim some sheet metal to make them fit, but you could. If there's any laws about running with tires that stick out past the fenders, please abide by them though.. not all cops will catch you on it, but the ones that do are usually the ones who are pissy enough to give you a nice fine for it. As far as gearing goes, I have a buddy who runs 35's and stock gearing and he does well by it. It'll hurt your gas tank and how efficiently you can spin your tires.. I'm sure it sucks, but if you're ok with how it rides, you dont "have" to regear right away

well im running 4.5" and 32s and could fit 33s with minor trimming[lower fender], 35s would require a significant amount of trim in my opinion if you plan on flexing at all, and as mention 3.55s with 35s will suck *****, at least i know 32s and 3.55s suck as far as gas mileage goes, power wise it aint terrible but it could be better.....mind you that was with the AW4[auto] i havent finished my 5spd swap yet so im expecting it to be mildly better but even still once i get new tires[33 or 35s] ill be running at least 4.56s or maybe 4.88s and with new tires i plan on going up another 2inches with a LA kit

Why does every one say you need to re-gear?!?!?!
I run 35s with the same setup you have and I never have a problem. Don't get me wrong I'm going to get 4.56s later but now for 3 years I've run 3.55's.

You can do it. I run 35x12.5 KM2s on a 4.5" short arm with D30/44 axles. I had them geared at 3.55s and i didnt think it was that bad. I was getting 11-12 MPG. Then i put in a set of 4.88s and wow what a difference. Theres alot more low end power and get up and go. Im getting 16-18MPG now.

Like mentioned, yea you can do it but power and gas mileage will absolutely suck with stock gears and an auto. Wouldn't be so bad with a stick. It will also put a lot of heat and strain on an auto having it struggling all the time.

NO! 33s suck with 3.55s. I got about 30 miles to the first quarter tank on my dad's XJ. MINE however with 31s and 3.55s is acceptable. I currently have a cracked #6 exhaust tube and still manage 17mpg on average over a year and a half.
I'd recommend regearing like everyone here before me

I'm on 35s with stock gearing and it's not bad around town. Free way it's a pain but it does it. Go 35s and if it breaks fix it!!!! Just be easy and you will be fine
