Default cam timing kit.

ok so heres the deal, just bought a custom cam from Comp cams, told them i needed a new timing kit along with the cam. they told me they had a kit compatable with my 99" 4.0 well after getting the cam and the timing kit they sent me the wrong timing kit, i finally got in touch with them explained my issue and upon further investigation comp cams doesnt carry a timing kit for a 99+ 4.0 engines and the original employee i talked to thought the kit he sent me was compatable. (i am returning the kit i got for a full refund) but this leaves me in need of a new timing kit for this cam thatll be compatable with my engine. so my question is to anyone who has any experience with running upgraded cam's and doing so on a 99+ engine what company has the best kit? who has the best warrenty for thier kits? any opinions or company suggestions would be great. i just dont want to run into the same issue again with another company thus delaying my engine rebuild/swap even longer. thanks everyone

if the cam is made for a 4.0, any stock timing chain and gears should fit it. I would stick with comp since thats what your cam is.

Your '99 uses a a cam 'thrush plate' to hold it in position and all of the aftermarket cams are for the pre-99 engines. No aftermarket cam company makes a cam for '99+. The problem is that there are no blanks easily available.
