I put in some rear Daystar extended bumpstops. The tire still hits at full flex. Not happy. They're 4" long (need 1 more inch) and I don't see any that are longer. In my research I've seen a plate that bolts over the spring pack that cantilevers over the inside serving as a higher place for the bumpstops to impact, instead of the top of the axle. Does anyone run a setup like that, or are they afixing bumpstops to the plate (impacting the frame), as i've seen in some pictures? I can't seem to find anyplace that sells them either. Maybe someone makes some sort of spacer to add 1 more inch??? I could use some help from the LCG experts...

Keep an eye on that area for creasing or denting, The stock configuration spreads the load with the metal backing plate of bump.

I took the XJ out and flexed it and took a bunch of measurements. I didn't account for the compression in progressive bumps stops and a few other things. It looks like I need 2 more inches. I just got back from the metal supply store. I got some scrap square 2" tube for $3. I'm hoping this works

So, I finished the rear bumpstop extensions and they work great. I used 2" square tube, just like Stevemongr said. After all that trial and error, I should have just followed good advice. When will I stop trying to reinvent the wheel? haha.
Next weekend is front bumpstops. So, Stevemongr, what are you running up front?
