What size lift are you looking to get? And make sure to get a masonry bit to drill out the stock xj leafs. It'll make it soooooo much easier. I got a cheap bit from the local hardware store and it went through all 5 leafs I had left (after trying a normal bit for about 30 minutes and getting through 3), and the masonry bit cut the other 5 in about 2-3 minutes.
Also make sure you have a good functioning large C-clamp, so get a new one or lube up the one you have.
Cutting the eyes off the leafs is fun, make sure you've got a few cut off wheels and that you grind the edge that touches the leafs as round as you can get it.
Just the main leaf from an s10 pack gave me 1.5" of lift, and gave a very nice ride.

i have a few good C-clamps so ill be good thier, what size masonary bit should i get? i tack welded the spring clamps to the bottom of the s10 3rd so they dont slide down, im not to worried about ruining the spring because i kept the spring wet everywhere besides the weld.the spring clamps it came with were wierd and wouldnt have worked. and i read the spring clamps slide down so i figured a few tacks would work

im looking for 3-3.5 because im nervous about a hack n tap.. extra 100 bucks haha. and i just bought 10 4.5 cut off wheels. i bought some cheap bits, but now that you say that, ill save them for something else and get a few masonary bits. i planned on using the XJ main-s10 main-s10 2nd-s10 3rd...

The spring clamps may or may not work for your application.. I didnt use the stock s10 spring clamps because mine did not come with them, but i did use one of the stock xj spring clamps on the back side of each leaf pack. Seems to be working fine for me.
If you want to get pretty close to 3" The s10 main leaf and a 1.5-2" lift shackle will put you right there at it.

You should only need one masonry bit. The one i used is still in perfect shape after doing all of them. You'll need a 3/8 bit, along with a 3/8 centering pin to put the leafs back together.

I would recommend getting ubolts from any reputable company. As long as they're not from auto zone they'll be fine, the quality of the auto zone ubolts is terrible. As far as the center pin, i'd look at the same place you get the ubolts. I just happened to have a brand new set of 3/8 center pins when i did mine, so i didnt have to buy any.

Will this work if your spring pack is shot?
Seems like it would if you used your XJ main leaf & all S-10 leaves.I want around 3.5 to 4 in. of lift.
Great video BTW.

It works surprisingly well. Lol. If your leafs are inverted just make sure to use the main leaf and cut each end to end as close to directly under your xj main leaf eyes as you can. Mine has a nice healthy arch to it now.
