Default broken housing fix

so i ended up with 2 97 tj dana 44's for quite cheep, one it trussed and ready to go the other has a snaped pass side shaft,
much like this one

THAT IS NOT THE SAME AXLE, but it is broken in the same spot and with the same style break

question is if i line them up perfect and have it welded, then plated, then full upper and lower truss (driver side as well) dose anyone see why it can be done?
also is the center cast
the tubes are mild steel im guessing

thinks guys

Best bet would be to have a new tube pressed in. I'm guessing they are the rubi axles or a rear later model, not JK, 44. If it's a front rubi 44 it uses the same tubes as a 30 and yes the center section is cast so you'll need to heat it before welding mild steel to it.

I know nothing about welding technique but if you line it back up right I don't see why you wouldn't be able to weld it back together. I'd imagine that with the added strength of a truss that you'd be good to go.

Hopefully some folks with actual experience here can chime in as well.

It is a rubi and I think I'm gonna let a local machine shop weld it back to keep it straight and ill truss it and over all make it better than the g2 I was gonna buy, plus its a HP
