Okay, so about 4 months ago I had some break issues. The master cylinder had already been replaced before I got it. So oneday, my jeep starts pulling real hard and I smell break fluid and the caliper caught fire, on the driver side. So, it turned out to be the passenger side caliper breaking, so I replaced both calipers and shoes. Now a few months later, all of a sudden my driver side caliper is smoking again. But then I drove it today, and no problem, what the hell? Is this a notorious problem with XJs, or what. Someone help me please.

Wow man that sucks that your having break problems like this. The only thing I can think of is there might be something wrong with the new caliper, if you have your receipt you can exchange it.

Hoses, I cant tell you how many calipers I see replaced that ended up being bad hoses. And they will look fine on the outside. I replace calipers hoses rotors every second time I do brakes in the front and I have never had any brake problems.
