bolt on control arm mounts
 

I specifically have the Rock Krawler bolt on 3 link mounts, however this question probably pertains to any bolt on CA mount...

My brake and fuel lines run along the inside of the drivers frame rail. Looks to me like the bolts will need to pass thru them.

What is recommended here?

Can i just spread the lines enough to get er done? Mine are corroded, I fear if I mess with them much they'll crumble haha.

i try not to force lines out of position, but if you do, whatever breaks just cut where the lines look solid, and splice in some new stuff.
you can buy a decent tube bender, double flare kit and cutter for cheap. lengths of straight tube and fittings are also cheap.( NAPA sells decent stuff up here) its just time consuming to get things to look nice, and bleed the system. i actually enjoy tube work

I have a bender and flare kit. But its an 87 Jeep in WI. There is no safe spot.

I was a tad worried about this, but a couple guys I talked to said they didn't have to mess with anything in that area.

But I see no way around that, the bolts go straight thru the frame.

heard. winters are brutal on vehicles up here too. lol

I've been worried about this as well for installing my bolt-on Rusty's Longarm kit (which I'm still undecided on if I'm going to use it or sell it), but my fuel and brake lines all run alongside the frame rail, not inside of it. But mine is a '98. Are all of the pre-97 models the same in this regard?

I'm just scared to drill through my unibody rail in general. lol

Mine run along the frame rail on the inside side of the frame.

The bolts are thru bolts, which put the bolt right thru the lines. Unless I squeeze them around the bolt and nut, I see no way around them.

So it sounds like all years are the same.

I already have a rusty fuel line to replace back at the tank area, and the quick-disco fitting right behind the drivers' wheel is about to crumble as well. I don't think that working the lines around the bolts would be a problem, you'd just have to make sure to move them out of the way somehow when drilling. Would hate to drill through those, lol. The RK 3-link has individual mounts for each control arm, right? It doesn't replace the crossmember?

There is a notch in the back of that bracket for the fuel and brake lines. Carefully unclip them from the unibody rail and pull them out enough to get them in that notch.

Aka get ready to do fuel and brake lines lol.

I just bolted on the LA mounts for my Full Traction kit yesterday. You have to drill a 9/16" hole through the inside of the driver's frame rail, and it comes out just below the fuel and brake lines. I actually drilled straight through one of the plastic clips that holds the lines and had to pull it out and use a cable tie to pull the lines up out of the way. With that gone, the LA mount and the lines don't interfere with each other. The exhaust on the other side is a different story... I can upload a picture tonight if you're interested.

Good chance. My fuel lines were fine, rear brake line had to be replaced.
