Bilstein shock question
So I have 2 questions. I currently have a Rusty's 3" lift installed with the full leaf pack and Hydro shocks. It came with the rusty shocks, but the ride is a little rough. I've been thinking about installing some Bilstein 5100's. So here are my questions
1: I have the 3" lift, and I'm putting a 3/4" spacer in the front. Am I going to have any drawbacks going with the 3.5-4" shocks?
2: Would it be a noticeable difference going from the Rusty "hydro" shocks to the Bilstein 5100's? At least a big enough difference to warrant the change over?

1. You need to measure your compressed and extended shock needs. Which means you should have the correct bump stops done first. Buy your shocks based on that rather than the amount of lift.
2. Depends on what difference you're looking for (on Road or off road / comfort or performance). As a general rule tjough, people swear by bilsteins. No personal experience... Yet

The 3.5-4.5 will be just right for your application.
Will it be a noticeable improvement?
Does the Pope wear a funny hat when he craps in the woods?!!
H*LL YES!!
I've got them in a 4-Pak on my site, makes it a little easier to get 'em.

You will find a noticeable difference when you swap shocks, all the shocks that come with the kits are real cheapies I don't care whose they are. I have a Rustys lift on mine also and the 5100 made a lot of difference on and off road.
Are there better shocks, yes but for the price the 5100 are hard to beat.

Thanks for the info, and yeah I know you have them haha. You're the reason I'm thinking about getting them. I've been contemplating them for the last few days, and I saw a post of your's on another thread and clicked your link. So yeah, once I get a refund from Treadwright, I'll be ordering a set from ya.
