Default Better shackle angle

Want a better shackle angle? get leaves from a 96 dodge ram van. They are 2 inches longer in the rear, thus making the shackle swing towards the rear about 30 degrees or so. This is a direct bolt in. Sorry, I have no pictures.

not any increase in lift. Just better shackle angles for flex and droop out on the trail.

Not any increase from stock XJ height or your current lifted height?

X2 my rear springs are stock and flat as hell. If I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone all the better.

Well, I have not done this yet. But I plan on using a longer shackle along with my current set up, just swapping out the leafs.

Here is a picture of someone who did it.

His shackle was straight down to begin with.

Looks like the answer is ~4-5" of lift and, as stated above, improved shackle angle.

I'm wondering about the flex capabilities. -Let us know if you attempt this.

awesome man. Yeah, they should be a direct bolt in. Post some pictures up here when you do it. I was able to get half my list crossed off today. So I will probably end up doing this a bit sooner, but still at least a month away yet.

are you already lifted? I wonder if the xj add a leafs will work with these ram van ones?

The best shackle angle is about 60*(min) to 45*(max) at ride height.

the best way to achieve that, is shackle relocation brackets

also moved to adv. tech

agreed! I looked at those also, but the longer leaves are a direct bolt in, that is why I was interested.

You are right, the better the angle, the better the flex.
