I am installing a wide band o2 sensor and was wondering if anyone has an idea of the best way to get the sensor cable through the firewall.

On driver side firewall there is a grommet that allows passage of hood release cable, I believe there are also wires passing through another grommet. An additional wire can be passed through either one.
For the 97+ models, I have read that there is a firewall grommet on passenger side also.

I've usually piggy backed it with the factory harness and ran it inside.

That is what I did, just popped that grommet out, cut a v in the edge and went to it, thanks guys.
