tires? lockers?

i can understand if you want to wait until the lift before getting tires, in which case i would say throw in a lunchbox locker or save up for gears and lockers.

i dont see sliders on the list of armor, could consider those too

i say slap a lunch box locker in the front, doesn't comprimise street manners at all. don't do a lunch box in the rear, they are more likely to break

Sorry, iPad does not like forums... I was saying, I would go with sliders or a locker. But I do love my XRC bumper!
Make sure you contact Serious Offroad if you go with the bumper.

Yes everything is a joke without sliders. Suspension tuning and sliders worked better than lockers in my opinion.

Tires are very important also. Can't go anywhere without good meats.

this same old argument again? come on man I'm locked front and rear 4.5" on 33's. my xj isn't much for flexing but I walk all over the rocks that my friends with the same setups open/open stuggle on. and so far I've had just enough clearance on the rocks so I havent yet needed sliders or bumpers (yes I need to find some bigger rocks). I'd rather have my lockers/gears over flex/sliders any day of the week

Everyone has a different skill with their rig some locked some not. Lets not start an argument on another's thread.

One thing I will say OP get rid of the BB for the love of god and get a 3" lift or bastard 2" lift. I say this cause the difference between new springs and picks o stock springs is night and day and the same with the rear. A Budget boost is good for ppl to go from 4-6" but for ppl with stock suspension it hurts. Once again I say this from direct experience with a budget boost on an 01 with stock suspension.

I won't argue because I believe you. But you and I obviously have had different experiences.

I do believe though in protection first from crushing your rockers potentially. Also using my sliders as pivot points I have avoided body damage on many occasions and not just rockers, but doors and window damage.

I also believe its easier to tune your suspension using open diffs. Because you and I both know that if your tires are off the ground you will not go anywhere open. so when you get your suspension working well you really notice the difference in traction.

Funny thing the other day my brother has a wrangler with open diffs on 35's. He tried a rock about 20in in diameter and could not get a tire on it! LOL I told him he needed to get his suspension where it needs to be first. Also because its very inexpensive. Yes I know lockers would have got his jeep up on the rock. But flexing does help you from a possible roll over.

Lockers cheat the ill effects of poor suspension. They work well. I just feel you have a better overall package if you do the little things first.

So it depends on how you look at it. Lockers will do what you say and quickly without any fuss or tuning.

Haha smashing your doors in happens real quick and is no fun to try and fix. Hit it hard enough and your doors won't ever be the same. I'de go sliders or bumper.
