Best roof rack for money?

Depends on your requirements and what you are after. The stock roof rack works well for certain things and costs nothing. If looking for a basket, Nates4x4 is the best deal for a full-size one at $300.

In other words, robbsdfff, you probably think you asked a straightforward, sensible question, but actually, you didn't.
There are so many different kinds of roof racks that without knowing more about your intended use, nobody can give you a decent answer.
Cough up some more info, and you'll get good feedback.

Depending on your skills it's very easy to make one yourself. I did for mine out of EMT and expanded metal for about $45 and a case of beer for my welder friend. It has very little wind drag or noise, I bought the base for mine as my friend was out of town working on a pipeline (welder).

After a lot of research, I just bought a basket made by ROLA, a company that originates from Australia.
It is well made, decent welds, and good metal thickness. Was $115 delivered and has an option of adding a 21" center section.

The inside depth is 4.25" Overall height is 5". A similar basket is made by 'rage' but the ROLO has an added tube down length of sides. I am impressed with the quality. Weighs 35 pounds.
Deep enough to clear a set of mud-ramps, shovel, hi-lift base, and 3" PVC water pipe, and set surfboards on crossbars.
Where shovel sits on tubes, I use rubber hose split down the center, like a wire loom. Protects rack and prevents noise. Also set the PVC pipe on pieces of hose.

personally, i like everything about my warrior products cargo rack from the gutter mounts to the high lift/axe/shovel mounts.
i've wheeled with over 300 pounds in it and it could have held more but off camber gets a little wicked at that weight.
