Best Alternator to run with Optima Yellow Top Battery
Hey guys, time for me to replace the alternator as it has gone out.
What alternator would you recommend running with an Optima Yellow Top? I do have a moderate sound system and will run some leds later on (not that Leds really take any power). And I was also wondering if it's a good idea to change the voltage regulator as well. I'm a noob when it comes to the electronic side of the XJ haha. Thanks for any help! |
:sweatdrop: Trying to get the job done tomorrow so any help asap? :sweatdrop:

A year of your XJ would help...

Ok if. It's for the 00 XJ and you want a simple upgraded alt go to your local parts store and ask for a higher amp alt
If a lil fab ie grinding ain't no big deal get a grand Cherokee 136 amp alt. do a search on here. A few write ups have been made. And you don't "replace" your voltage regulator..... It's built into the ecu. |

Thanks for the reply, I'll look for a higher amp alternator at the auto parts store. |
