Belt driven york in a 99 with 4.0
So here are some work in progress pictures of my York mount.
I had a double v belt pulley machined to take a serpentine belt.
I have a mount mostly made that mounts it next to the power steering pump. The factory PS pump and manual tensioner are retained. I wanted to put an auto tensioner in but there just wasn't space.
The OEM belt would fit perfectly if I deleted the mechanical fan. (I am not deleting the mechanical fan at this point, but I did grind the alt bracket to clear the belt so I could)
I have no idea where I am going to put the rest of the system...
I hope that I have enough belt on the PS pulley...
A good shot of it mounted;
A good shot of the bracket so far;
Whole album here;

Well the bracket is done providing that the belt stays on.
I am adding a PS cooler so until I get the PS lines back on I can't start it up.
I am going to go back and clean it up some, trim off some corners, round things out.
full album still here;

Actually 2 years since the York install. I have not had any issues. I did have to replace the belt because it started squeaking, that was probably more due to the fact that I bought the cheapest belt that I could when I initially set it up just in case it didn't work. I upgraded to urethane motor mounts. I recently installed a WJ steering pump and hydraulic ram assist steering. I have never heard the belt slip on the PS pulley.
